Promnick and Heerden Vie for ABU Middleweight Title with polish/grit

South Africans Dean Promnick and DonJuan van Heerden will face each other on July 5 for the African Boxing Union (ABU) middleweight title at Emperors Palace, Kempton Park, South Africa.

Promnick, with a record of 5-0, exudes an air of inevitability. He’s the prospect with the polished jab and refined speaking skills. It will be a case of polish versus pressure, because Van Heerden, with 12 fights under his belt and hungry after a recent points loss, doesn’t intend to miss this great opportunity to contend for the ABU title. Rough diamond Vs Polished gem.

In his most recent fight, Dean defeated Kudakwache Banda by decision in April. While Donjuan lost a close decision to Snamiso Ntuli.

The official weigh-in took place this Friday, with both contenders making weight at 160 pounds.
